On her first Saturday night in Australia to all our amazement she won $1000.00 on the lottery and bugger me the following Saturday she won another $1500.00. In 1989 this would have definitely covered her airfares to Australia.
 
As you all know, Ann liked to have a chat. When visiting Jimmy in 2015 who was living in a small town in New South Wales, whilst visiting the local bank the staff member turned out to be from Gorey (County Wexford) so sometime later……..we managed to leave.  That same day on the beach, there was only one other couple there and of course they were from Portsmouth so again sometime later……we managed to leave.
 
About 1988, Ann got her Bunions repaired on both feet and was on crutches. Jim was her designated private nurse and driver for a couple of weeks whilst she still sold houses.  Jim recalls one night at the pub in Portsmouth at a friend’s birthday party, needless to say it was a good night and of course the crutches didn’t stop her from dancing on a table top supported by John and Jim!  Can’t keep a good woman down!
